Hey ppl... posting here after a really long time.. been busy with work :(!

Hmmm... Been thinking about posting something on ppl and their mobile phones for quite sometime now :D! Riding daily to office on the Bannerghatta Road is an experience!

Especially ppl talking on their mobile phones so constantly and consistently, that it actually surprises me!! There are folks in the car who dont realise which direction their steering is taking in a completely packed road with really slow moving traffic.. Then there are some on their bikes with the cell between their shoulder and the ear... Their focus is so much on that balancing act that they forget they are riding on the road!!

And this incident tops it all... I was riding in front of the Oracle Tech Park and in front of me was a Santro which was moving slow though there was enuff space to move ahead.. Managed to overtake it and not much to my surprise I see a pretty lady on the driving seat typing a message on the cell n drive!!

On a more serious note, wish everyone on the road is more careful about their actions and responsible for them too. Accidents take a second to happen but might change ones life forever!!

Belated happy festival to all! Wanted to post this yesterday but was busy... usual Monday at office!

The festival morning started usual with the pooja at the temple near my house... For those of you who dont know which temple I m talking about... here are a couple of photos.. :)

Then the pooja at home with 5 types of sweets..went on fine.. Again back to temple by 12 noon. The "mangalarti" got over by 1.. did some work serving food to devotees.. all done by around 3.

While I was in the temple met this kid..or should I say an infant of about 5 months.. His name is Adhvit. Was so cute that I cud not take my eyes off him. Had a lovely smile and the moment anyone held him, wud try to climp up. The innocence on a child's face is mindblowing!! The beautiful expressions on the face make u forget the world :) We've grown up to loose that innocence... see the real world... learning to live with it.. and wish we cud change some things but cannot!!

Another incident that related to innocence.. They were doing auction of some items in the temple which has been a convention now mainly done for fund raising... People were quoting their bids and buying these items. Now, an item is auctioned at 5K. A kid comes to her mom and says "mom, y didnt u say 6ooo when they said 5000?".. The mom answered "Dear.. who'll pay the money later?" and the kid so innocently said "oh... we have to pay too?" :D

Then there were some cultural programs... a couple of gals performed a classical dance which was worth watching... After that the pooja in the night followed by the immersion of Ganesha idol. The eventful day ended at 11pm.

Enjoyed the festival at the temple after 2 years!!

Just finished watching the Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan video from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.. love the way this video has been shot. One of those few movies or songs where I liked Aishwarya Rai or Salman Khan for that matter!!

The way she walks down the stairs.. the way they flirt with just their eyes is amazing! Involves lot of expressions... a beautiful set too!!

Overall... a very beautifully made movie! The direction is just awesome! :)

A friend of mine sent me a mail with this...

"People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes, they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on. "

This is what I have to add...

So strange the human relationships are... Wish all cud last for a lifetime but most of them are never meant to be... Some come to an abrupt halt, some change the way u never want them to. Some leave u with hurt, some with anger, some make a person lot more patient! I guess its got more to do with the circumstances than the two people involved. Its hard to see things change and accept them too... but sometimes u r left with no choice... "Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes, they act up and force you to take a stand. "

And there are some that u can rely on... all ur life.. in whatever situation... one such bond that a child shares with its parents. I m one such kid.. blessed with the best parents a child could wish for!!:)

Whew! Its monday morning again!! Listening to some good music in an effort to keep myself awake.. :D

Was doing some travelling on weekend on these Bangalore roads trying to reach my relatives' place at the other end of the city. The traffic in namma bengaluru has increased exponentially over the past few years creating all kinds of traffic woes for commuters.

Here's what I think are the top 5 on blr roads!!

1. People riding on the extreme left of the road suddenly realising they need to take a right turn and yeah..they do so without thinking twice!! The amazing skills the auto drivers possess of turning the handle in microseconds...

2. People crossing the roads with their brains wandering in some other world... The irritating part is when they look to their left when they are supposed to be looking in the other direction :P! And the confused lot who keep 2 steps forward and then one backward confusing the driver all the way and making sure both have a fall :D! Also wonder at times that how sure they are that the 2 wheeler coming their way has really good brakes and will come to a halt when they come across? :P

3. The vehicles blocking the free left turn at probably every signal... and the buses(so-called public transport) blocking the entire traffic standing right in the middle of the road or maybe these govt. and pvt. buses trying to overtake each other without giving a damn about anyone else on the road!!!

4. Incessant honking at traffic signals...wonder if they are just trying to prove that their vehicle does have a horn and a good one at that! :P

5. This is my fav... People trying to balance 2-wheelers with both their foot down and the handle shaking... trying to create friction between their foot and the road... wish they had done it barefoot just to realise what their footwear goes thru :P!!

To end on a positive note... people do manage to stop when they see the signal go red :D!!

A Rainy Evening...

Bangalore is very cloudy since morning today with the sun playing hide and seek for few mins in the afternoon. After that its a beautiful rainy evening. A perfect evening to be sipping some hot coffee(something which I m doing right now :D) and yeah eat something really hot n spicy.

Was watching the rains sometime ago, and it brought back some good ol' memories... each one worth cherishing. Listening to some soft soothing music as I write this really short post.

The weather is just perfect for anyone to enjoy an evening all by oneself if single or with that someone special if not so single ;) Would love to get drenched in these rains... For anyone who has not tried it believe me its good fun!! If I m riding...its good fun to splash water on others around u at times :D(how many of you are reminded of the Hajmola ad here? :P)

Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday evening... I m for sure :)

Here I m writing my second post after a long time... Was too lazy these days to even type a word!!

Yesterday was going through some of my mehendi design collection and suddenly the thought of putting something on my blog occurred to me. This hobby of mine started when I was probably in 7th Std or so. I used to love mehendi on my hand but no one around had the art or the patience for it. Thats when I decided I would try it myself. The whole activity kept me interested and I just became better at it by the day. Its a great distraction when I m bored or low coz of the concentration element. Below are some pics of my handiwork :D.

This is what I had in store for my friend on her engagement. I wasnt confident I would do a good job out of it, but I guess their confidence made me do it... In the end it did look alright!!
This is on her wedding... was amazing fun pulling her leg, not letting her talk to the groom on the phone.. poor thing ;)!! Took me about 4 hours to finish back n front of 2 hands and applied some on the feet too!

This was the first bridal mehendi I applied... these hands are my cousins.. Never planned for it.. the lady who had to apply the mehendi said she cannot do it in the last minute. There was no other choice but for me to do it, did this with the readymade cones from the shop(usually I make my own as the readymade ones do create problem sometimes) and that too with a bad headache on! In the end it was satisfying to see the bride happy :)

Will end this post here... will post more pics as and when I click them! Till then njoy!

My first long ride..

Did this ride on Sunday afternoon.. thot of putting it down for people interested to read it!

The sunday morning of June 11th started pretty boring. The urge to do something different that day was very strong. Called up this friend of mine to get some inspiration. And then called up a few people to see if I can get some company on the ride and one agreed!!

Filled some petrol in my Kinetic and we hit the Mysore road by 1:15. The plan was just to go on a long ride maybe about 25-30km as I wasnt confident my Kinetic would come further with a pillion. It was a very hot n sunny afternoon. The roads after Raja rajeshawri nagar were just awesome and tempting too! So there we were riding at 70+ speed on great roads(such a relief from potholed roads of Bangalore!!) with some amused people giving us a second look on the highway(guess its weird to find 2 gals on a Kinetic on a highway :D). By the time we realised we had crossed Bidadi and on our way to a town called Ramnagara which is about 45km from Blr. Once there I said why not go a little further to this reservoir called Kanva dam which is 6 km from Ramnagara on the highway and 8km off it. So went ahead, passed by Kamat Lokaruchi which had enough Sunday crowd and took the deviation leading to Kanva dam. The 8km road which passes thru the village and some lonely stretches finally lead us to the dam at about 2:30pm.

The sun was shining bright and the calm and serene beauty of the place was enough to give a high. Enjoyed the beauty of nature for more than an hour and a half. Walked thru the long off road that leads to a fleet of steps into the water. The view from there was a real treat for the eyes. Some hill tops around half in shade, half reflecting the sunlight. Sat their staring at the calm waters remembering some wonderful moments of my last visit there. There were some birds that we saw which cannot be seen here in the concrete jungle :)! We even saw a snake peeping out of the water to take a look at us :D!! Never wanted to leave the place but then had to get back to Blr by dark, so we said bye to Kanva dam at around 4.

Bought water as soon as we got outta there as "there was water water everywhere but no water to drink"(plz dont forget water if u plan to go there anytime!). And then cruised our way back to Bangalore at 70+ and reached the ring road by 5:15. Ended this perfect(or maybe not so perfect :D)day of riding 120km at coffee day in BSK 3rd Stage.

This is the story of a hot Sunday afternoon :D!!
